ABOUT LINES KYSTFERIE
Lines Kystferie was founded by Ivan Verwerft, Nadja Luyten and Tim Verwerft.
We are a family from Belgium who moved to beautiful Norway in 2018 to achieve our dream. We have been doing carpentry work in Belgium for more than 30 years, but the dream of moving to Norway became more and more appealing. We had been to Norway on a visit, and fell head over heels in love. At one point we saw an ad on the internet; a large farm on an idyllic island in the middle of Norway was for sale. The idea of living in such peaceful and scenic surroundings as this, appealed enormously to us. However, we never thought that we would settle so far north in Norway, but both adults and children were immediately positive. So in 2018 we moved to Linesøya, 2400 kilometres from our home country Belgium.
The farm we bought was a crown estate in the 17th century, belonging to the Danish-Norwegian king. Then a family moved here and took over the farm around the year 1772. They ran the farm for 4 generations and lived of both fishing and farming. Later the farm was also used as a post office, which they operated until they retired. Jørgine Eide was the last owner here and lived until she was 102 ½ years old.
It is an honour to be able to take care of this beautiful farm, and develop it further.
